LeoNote is your whole knowledge base in one lightweight app, and it keeps going where other note apps stop: a graph view on steroids, browser-style workspaces, a real task manager, documents, spreadsheets and slides, a video and audio player, and a home for your AI agent. Everything works the moment you open it. Nothing to install, nothing to configure.
One-time purchase. Every device you own. Already have a folder of Markdown notes? Point LeoNote at it.

Drawn in HTML, not a screenshot — click the tabs. The real thing is faster.
Out of the box
Every time I needed something, I built it in. So today LeoNote opens with everything already working together: nothing to install, nothing to set up, your whole knowledge base ready from the first minute.
Write
Live preview renders the note as you type. The syntax only appears on the line your caret is on, then folds away again. One key flips to raw source when you want it.
[[wikilinks]] with autocomplete, headings and aliases. Rename a note and every link to it is rewritten./ menu for headings, to-dos, callouts, tables, code, dates — and a sketch, right in the note.Research
Most graph views are a screensaver. LeoNote’s is built for deep research: scope it to a note, a folder or a tag, give every topic a home, see only the links that bridge topics, and ask it how two ideas connect.
.canvas files.#tag path: "exact phrase" -not.Spaces
Like profiles in a browser. Work, study, the side project and the household each keep their own tabs, groups and split view — and you switch between them in the blink of an eye.
Tasks
Inbox, Today, Upcoming. Priorities, start and due dates, steps, undo on everything. It lives beside your notes instead of being scraped out of them, so it is instant and fully keyboard driven.
!h !m !l priority@ due^ start+ focus areaPlayer
Drop a video or an album into your vault and it just plays. One queue for music, videos and online media keeps going while you write, with a now-playing pill in the status bar.
Files
Real work is more than notes. Fix the report, edit the spreadsheet, flip through the deck and lay your photos out as a collage — each one is just another tab, right next to the note about it.
AI workflow
We are AI enthusiasts, and LeoNote is built like it. No chatbot bolted on, no tokens to buy from us: bring the coding or writing agent you already use and let it file notes, link ideas and manage tasks while you think.
Yours
Markdown notes, open formats for boards and sketches. Git them, sync them with whatever you like, open them in any other Markdown app tomorrow. No database, no export step.
One password-protected file holds everything, ready to move to another computer. The password never leaves your machine, and a restore keeps your current data aside first.
LeoNote runs entirely on your computer. There is no sign-up, no server your notes pass through, and nothing to stop working if we disappear.
And the small things
Closing hides it, so reopening is instant. Starts with Windows if you want.
No modal dialogs. Destructive actions show a toast with an undo button.
Six accents, light and dark. Try them on this page:
Folder colours and icons, row height, indent guides, counts, hidden paths.
Every tab, group, split and scroll position comes back exactly as you left it.
Press any combo and see what LeoNote receives and what it runs.
Synthesised, subtle, and one switch away from silent.
Optionally export open and done tasks into a plain Markdown file any app can read.
Pricing
No subscription, no seats, no feature tiers. Less than a few months of a typical note-app subscription.

FAQ
No. Point LeoNote at the folder and it opens as it is. It reads standard Markdown, [[wikilinks]], tags, callouts, .canvas boards and open-format drawings, and respects your attachment folder. Nothing is converted, so you can keep using your other apps on the same folder.
Because everything here is built in and maintained by one team: the task manager, the player, the document editing, the graph tools. There are no plugins to break on update and no subscription for features. You pay once and it is done.
No, on purpose. The things people install plugins for are part of the app, tested together, and fast. If something you need is missing, tell us in our community chat.
Your vault is a normal folder, so anything that syncs folders works: a cloud drive, a peer-to-peer sync tool, or git. For moving house, an encrypted backup file carries everything. An optional hosted backup is planned for later.
It works entirely offline. There is no account and no licence server. The network is only used for things you ask for, like playing an online media link you added.
Light. The app is about 15 MB, opens straight into your last session, and on our own machine sits at roughly 170 MB of memory with dozens of tabs and hundreds of notes open. Closing the window tucks it into the tray, so it is always one click away.
Windows 10 and 11 today. macOS and Linux builds are planned, but not promised for a date.
Not yet. Because notes are plain Markdown, any mobile Markdown editor pointed at the same synced folder will read and write them.
Ask for your money back within 14 days and you get it, as set out in the Terms. Your notes were never inside LeoNote to begin with, so there is nothing to export.
